The church was built on a site of Christian worship in Visigoth times, and was used as a mosque during the Muslim domination. During the 15th century, work began on the church in the Gothic style, and it was dedicated to the saints Justa and Rufina. The main façade is Baroque. The church is unfinished as construction was suspended in 1761. The tower has a square base, a sturdy silhouette and is crowned at the top by gabled decorations. The church has a single nave with side chapels and is covered by vaults in six sections.
