The May festivities in Los Realejos combine popular tradition and spectacular fireworks displays.

The streets and homes in the Cruz Santa district are bedecked with makeshift chapels containing crosses and altars, or “enrames”, where the locals apply all their skill to select the flowers to be used for the decorations in this celebration.

The two streets of El Sol and El Medio are the setting for the procession of La Cruz. Their inhabitants are also the creators of a whole array of fireworks to mark the historic rivalry between both streets. This curious event attracts thousands of visitors each year.
