Held on the first weekend of October since 2009, in the city of Burgos, which becomes a huge medieval setting for a multitude of activities revolving around the legendary Cid Campeador - El Cid.

Over the days of El Cid weekend, you can enjoy over a hundred cultural activities, from historical re-enactments, parades and tournaments to workshops, guided tours, lectures, theatre and musical entertainments. This wide-ranging programme also includes activities especially for families.

Some of the most interesting events include the torchlight parade; the medieval market, with its stalls selling crafts, food and drink; the camp set up on the banks of the river Arlazón, with demonstrations of medieval trades; swordfights and jousting.
