Workshop visits: Time to eat

“Charles III dining before the court.” Luis Paret y Alcázar © Museo Arqueológico Nacional

The National Archaeological Museum is organising a workshop for children where they can learn through play about key aspects of the history of food and the varied diet of our ancestors.

This activity for children aged 6 to 11 shows the value of healthy eating, while taking a journey through the history of food and cooking from the Middle Ages to the present day. Foods, flavours, recipes, utensils and table manners all feature in these free workshops, with titles like “Watching the King eat” or “At the Caliph’s table”.
