Groups of visitors outside the Museum © Museo de la Fundación Lázaro Galdiano

The museum offers activities for families with children aged 6 to 12 every Sunday from November to June.

These workshops are designed for families who want to have fun together through art. The maximum capacity is 20 people, and they must be booked in advance, with a booking fee of €6 per person.

“Welcome to Olympus” reveals the adventures and mishaps of the gods and heroes of Classical mythology in a tour of the museum, in which the participants learn how and why they were depicted in art through the ages. In the workshop, families create their own Mount Olympus and can play the part of a Classical god, with their characteristic attributes. This activity will be held on 5 November and 10 December 2017, and 21 January, 11 February, 4 March, 22 April, 6 May, and 10 June 2018, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

“Dreaming with Goya” offers a guided tour of the works by Goya in the museum’s collection, followed by a workshop exploring his etchings. Families will experiment with the materials used in etching, such as metal plates, rollers, brushes, washes, and charcoal. The result will be an artistic portfolio they can take home. This activity will be held on 3 December 2017, and 25 February, 8 April, and 3 June 2018, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
