Exhibitions: Magnum, contact sheets

View of the exhibition ‘Magnum. Contact sheets‘ at the Fundación Canal. Madrid © Fundación Canal

The exhibition organised by the Fundación Canal pays homage to the importance of contact sheets in analogue photography. At the same time, it offers a chance to appreciate some of the key moments of the 20th century, captured by the photojournalists of the famous agency Magnum.

The exhibition aims to show the valuable information contact sheets can offer. Thanks to this first impression of negatives, we can evaluate the image-creating process and analyse the photographer’s technique. The exhibition presents around one hundred photographs with their contact sheets, from 65 great names, including Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Eve Arnold, and Paolo Pellegrin.
