2017-2018 season at the Teatro Real. La Bohème, by Giacomo Puccini

Performance of Mozart’s opera “Lucio Silla” © A. Bofill / Gran Teatre del Liceu

Alongside London’s Royal Opera House and Chicago’s Lyric Opera, the Teatro Real brings one of the most iconic examples of Italian Romantic opera to the stage.

The innocence of youth and hope, the fragility of happiness… You can find it all in this much-admired work by Puccini. “La Bohème” tells the story of a group of young, idealistic artists in 19th century Paris. We see how Mimi and Rodolfo’s love is doomed to fail in a setting of poverty, coldness and disease.
