The itinerary of the Camino Real del Norte. From Castro de Viladonga to Lugo

Image of the exhibition. © Xunta de Galicia. Museums of Galicia.

The Castro de Viladonga Museum (Lugo) is retracing the cultural and natural heritage of the stretch of the Camino de Santiago that links Castro de Viladonga (Castro de Rei) with Lugo, to mark the Jacobean Year 2021.

It is a stretch of scarcely 30 kilometres and was registered as Vía Regia del Norte. It runs across the north coast from the Cantabrian Sea to A Chanca bridge (Lugo), where it connects to the Primitive Way. Along the way there are numerous Roman forts, villas and mines, ancient roads, bridges and churches of interest. The exhibition is comprised of nine panels and an audiovisual with a literary journey with poetry by Rosalía de Castro and Eduardo Pondal.
