The Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival began this competition in 2012 to present Baroque period theatre to children in an entertaining way.

This section of the festival is designed to promote theatre productions inspired by stories, music, poetry and drama to offer a version for family audiences from a modern perspective. The programme features six productions including such elements as hand puppets, marionettes, live music, shadow puppets and audiovisual screenings. The winners will perform again in the last two days of the contest.
