The World of Giorgio de Chirico

Giorgio De Chirico The Disquieting Muses, 1947. Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, Rome

CaixaForum offers a retrospective of the Italian painter Giorgio de Chirico, a major figure of the 20th century and founder of the 'Metaphysical' school.

Obra Social 'la Caixa' has organised an exhibition of 150 works, including paintings, watercolours and drawings from the main museums holding works by de Chirico. The show represents the stages of his artistic career, from the initial metaphysical period of the 1910s, including his best-known work, through iconographic themes and technical investigations to his neometaphysical period of 1968-1976.
