Among its objectives it seeks to highlight the figure of Mariana Pineda and her influence on society and the arts.
The Mariana Pineda European Women's Centre is a space for the exchange of ideas and the development of projects designed to promote women's equality. It has two rooms containing an exhibition of documents, prints, lithographs and objects relating to the history of Mariana Pineda and of feminist thought. There is also a well-stocked library containing publications which take a closer look at the life of this liberal-minded 19th-century woman, and at the period in which she lived. In addition, the centre offers a programme of socio-cultural activities aimed at women (courses, workshops, lectures, etc.).
