An icon for musicians developing their career in the 21st century

The Quiroga Quartet, created in 2000 by Helena Poggio, Josep Puchades, Aitor Hevia and Cibrán Sierra, is considered to be one of the most unique and active groups from the new European generation. They have received international acclaim, from critics and the general public, for their strong personality as a group and for their audacious and revolutionary performances.  The quartet was formed with the desire to pay homage to the great Galician violinist Manuel Quiroga, one of the most important instrumentalists in Spain's musical history. In 2018 they were awarded the National Music Award for the quality and robustness of their work, their long history in the field of creativity and their role in music research.
