The Orfeón Donostiarra is one of the most prestigious amateur choirs in Europe.

Founded in 1897, the Orfeón Donostiarra is currently made up of more than 170 people. Its repertoire includes around a hundred symphonic-choral pieces, more than fifty operas and zarzuelas, as well as a large number of polyphonic and folklore pieces. Throughout its history it has been conducted by Secundino Esnaola, Juan Gorostidi, Antxon Ayestarán and José Antonio Sainz Alfaro.

It is a regular at important music festivals such as San Sebastián Music Fortnight and the Peralada Festival. It has also taken part in European festivals in Salzburg, Montreux and Lucerne, for example. Teresa Berganza, Plácido Domingo, Ataúlfo Argenta and Daniel Barenboim have been some of the soloists and maestros that have worked with the choral society.
