"Designer and fashion entrepreneur. His functional and urban style has turned him into one of the biggest names in Spanish fashion."

His real name is Manuel Roberto Mariño. He was born in Verín (Orense) in 1945. He left to study in Paris. He took over his family’s dressmaking business when he returned in 1967. His first collection for women appeared in 1982 and he opened his first shop in Paris one year later. He also participated in the Paris Women’s Haute Couture Fair and the Milan Fashion Fair. In 1984, one of his designs was chosen to be part of the Costume Museum’s collection. In 1987 he began his collaboration with the Spanish department store El Corte Inglés. He has gradually been opening his own shops in Madrid and Ourense. His designs are characterised by an urban and functional style. He has also launched a line of perfumes and sunglasses.
