He was born in Barcelona in 1939. He studied at the School of Architecture in his native city and later at the University of Geneva. At the age of 19, he designed his first house. Before devoting himself completely to architecture, he became interested in the world of cinema. He directed two full-length films and several shorts. In 1964 he founded the Taller de Arquitectura. He expanded it later to Paris and New York and through it gained experience in urban design, architecture, landscaping and interior design. It is worth noting his work as a town planner, with the development of projects such as La Place de l’Europe, in Luxemburg, or the extension of the Paseo de la Castellana, in Madrid. He is the author of a comprehensive theoretical work, most notably “La Ciudad del Arquitecto” (The City’s Architect). He died in Barcelona in 2022.
