"Trapeze and circus artist. He achieved fame for working without a net at her shows. She is said to have broken the law of gravity."

Cristina María del Pino Segura was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1931. Her artistic name came from her father, with whom she started to work in the circus by chance. She had several serious accidents during her career due to her shows without a net. After seeing one of her performances in Valencia, the European representative of the Ringling Circus contracted her for his show. She worked at the Ringling Circus in the US for seven years and won the International Circus Award – the ‘Oscar’ of trapeze without a net. She retired in 1970 with a symbolic gesture – cutting her hair at her last performance. She died in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2017.
