"Architect, designer, painter and writer. As a designer, he is considered a renovator of modern aesthetics."

He was born in Barcelona in 1941, and studied at the School of Architecture in his native city. He began his professional career at Studio Per, where he coincided with Pep Bonet, with whom, together with Lluis Closet and others, he founded BD Ediciones de Diseño in 1972. He has created some of the most emblematic items of furniture of the 1970s, including the Hialina bookshelf and the Catalano bench. His Gaulino chair, inspired by Gaudí, won him the Nuevo Estilo Spanish design prize in 1989. As an architect, he designed the Alfredo Kraus auditorium in Las Palmas, the Mae West room in the Dalí Theatre-Museum, and the extension at the Faculty of Medicine in Barcelona. He is also the founder –together with his wife Beatriz de Moura– of the publishing company, Editorial Tusquets.
