Miguelanxo Prado was born in 1956 in A Coruña. From a very early age he started to collaborate in magazines like 'Creepy', 'Comix Internacional' and 'Zona84'. In 1985 he published his first solo work, 'Fragmentos da Enciclopedia Délfica', followed only two years later by 'Stratos'. After working at the satirical magazine 'El Jueves', he published 'Streak of chalk', which earned him unanimous acclaim from his international readers. He has worked for Televisión Galega, the channel for which he created the character Xabarín, and the characters in the series 'Os vixilantes do Camiño'. In 1998, he drew the characters for the animation series 'Men in Black' for the American production company Dreamworks. In that same year, Prado became the director of the Comic Fair 'Viñetas desde o Atlántico'. In 2003, he published the collective work 'Noches eternas', in partnership with the screenwriter Neil Gaiman. In 2009, he became a member of the Galician Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In 2013 he received the National Comic Award for his work 'Ardalén'.
