Born in Orihuela (Alicante) in 1910. In 1930 he published his first verses for magazines such as “El Pueblo de Orihuela” or “El día de Alicante” with the support of his friend Ramón Sijé. In Madrid, to which he moved to write for the Cossío dictionary of bullfighting, he is presented to authors of the Generation of ’27. Poems on bullfighting and of the war between love and death, as “El rayo que no cesa”, are from this period. During the civil war he was an activist with the Republicans and was imprisoned and condemned to death at the end of the conflict. Before dying, he published his last work, “Cancionero y romancero de ausencias”.
