Born in Malaga in 1908, his full name was Miguel Frías de Molina. The flamenco tablaos, and later the small theatres of the Spanish capital during the times of the Republic, saw the birth of his artistic activity. In 1933 comes his leap to fame participating in the Romea Theatre in Madrid with Soledad Miralles in "El testamento gitano". In 1942 he is exiled to Buenos Aires, where he developed his career and matured as an artist. In 1960 he retired from the stage. In the early 90s his figure was saved from oblivion for the Spanish public through "Las cosas del querer" by Jaime Chávarri, an independent film on the life of the artist. He died in Buenos Aires on 4 March 1993.
