"She is one of the most important figures in Spanish flamenco and dance. She gives courses and classes around the world."

Mercedes Rodríguez Gomero was born in Seville in 1947. She debuted in the Youth Galas in Seville at the age of 12. At 16 she premièred as a solo dancer. She has worked as a guest star at some of the most important companies. She worked at the Spanish National Ballet and the Ballet Español in Madrid. She performed in the show Cibayí, Joaquín Cortés’ first show, in 1993. She went on a large tour around Spain in 1995 with Antonio Canales. The dancer and creator’s initiatives include Mujeres (1996), a show that included Sara Baras and Eva Yerbabuena, and the show Flamenco viene del sur (2006). She was part of the Andalusian Gala at the Flamenco Festival in the USA in 2006.
