"Actress. One of Spain's most prolific professionals. She has completed numerous works for theatre, film and television."

María Luisa Paredes Bartolomé is born in Madrid in 1946. In 1961 she debuts with the Conchita Montes company with "Esta noche tampoco". In 1964 she begins to work at Televisión Española, participating in "Estudio 1", interpreting titles such as "El Mercader de Venecia" or "El olivar de Atocha". With the producer Antonio Ribas she begins working in film and debuts in "Las salvajes del puente de San Gil" in 1966. With Pedro Almodóvar she has collaborated on several occasions with "Entre Tinieblas", "La flor de mi secreto", "Todo sobre mi madre", "La piel que habito" and "Tacones Lejanos", for which she wins the Actors Union Award and the Sant Jordi Film Award in 1991. Between the years 2000 and 2003 she is President of the Royal Academy of Film.
