"Dancer and choreographer. She is considered to be the prime exponent of avant-garde flamenco dancing."

She was born in Seville, in 1963, in the Triana neighbourhood. She started her career in the companies of Antonio Gades, Rafael Aguilar and Mario Maya, and went on to create her own. She has created shows such as "El perro andaluz. Bulerías", "La tirana" and "Flamenco Republic", which were successful in Spain and abroad. In 1992 she created the choreography "Tango", premiered in the Auditorium of the Expo '92 site in Seville. In 1996 and 1997 she directed the Andalusian Dance Centre. Two years later, Torrelodones Town Council offered her group to settle in the Bulevar Theatre as the resident company. She has shared the stage with other artists such as Tamara Rojo and Marianne Faithfull. She has also been in films such as "Carmen" and "El amor brujo" by Carlos Saura, and "La bella Otero" by José María Sánchez.
