"Fashion designer. His creations and models have been worn by some of the most famous women in the world, such as Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn and Queen Sofia of Spain."

Born in Olba (Teruel) in 1918, he moved to Barcelona at the age of nine. Soon afterwards he began working at a tailor’s shop and discovered his true calling: dressing women. In 1942 he opened his first shop in Barcelona, and six years later in Madrid. In the 1950s he moved to the United States, where he received the Fashion Oscar from Harvard University in 1954. After half a century of dressing women, he presented his first men’s collection in 1997. He was chosen to dress Letizia Ortiz at her wedding to Prince Phillip of Spain. In 1999 he was awarded the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts and received the National Fashion Design Award in 2009. He died in Barcelona in 2014.
