"Theatre actor and director. He was the founder and member of the board of directors of the Lliure Theatre."

He was born in Reus (Tarragona) in 1951. He holds a degree in Drama from the Theatre Institute of the Barcelona regional government. Co-founder of the La Tartana-Théâtre Estudi company. He directed his first show in 1968. Between 1983 and 1989 he was named director of the María Guerrero theatre and the National Drama Centre. In 1983 he was chosen to represent Spain in the Théatre d'Europe, for which he produced the work 'Luces de Bohemia' by Valle-Inclán. In 1990 he moved to Paris took the post of director of the Théatre de l'Odeón until 1996. In 1997, together with Nuria Espert, he presented in Cordoba 'La oscura raíz', based on the work of Federico García Lorca. He also directed 'La casa de Bernarda Alba' by the same author in 2009 in the National Theatre of Catalonia.
