José Ramón García Román was born in Gabia Grande (Granada) in 1945. His musical career is very extensive - he was the director of the Luis de Narváez award and founder of the Ciudad de Granada choir, and he is a member of the artistic commission of the International Music and Dance Festival, amongst others. Directed by José Luis Temes, the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra premiered his work "La rosa blanca" in January 2009, as homage to the group of German intellectuals that confronted Hitler and the Nazis with profound Christian and enlightened thinking, according to the composer.
