He was born in Rábade (Lugo) in 1971. He went to high school with the actor Luis Tosar, with whom he started to make short films and videoclips. He spent ten years making short films, until the early 1990s, when he moved to Santiago de Compostela, where he attended screenwriting, playwriting and directing classes. Soon afterwards he started to work for Televisión de Galicia. He directed documentaries and fiction series such as “Mareas vivas”. In 2002 he released “Entre bateas”, a TV movie on drug trafficking on the Galician coasts. In 2004 he presented his first feature film at the Malaga Film Festival: “The Year of the Tick”. Back then he attended several courses at the European Film Academy and was invited to the first Talent Campus organised by the Berlin Film Festival. He continued directing documentaries and TV series such as “Padre Casares”, “El comisario” and “Pelotas”. In 2010 he released his second film, “18 comidas”.
