"Fashion designer. He was the first Spaniard to win the Golden Needle for Fashion Design in 1985, and is one of the most outstanding figures in the history of design in Spain."

His real name is Francisco Montesinos Gil, and he was born in Valencia in 1950. He graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts in his home town, having specialised in Interior Design and Design. In 1972, he opened his first shop in the Carmen district of Valencia, which soon became the benchmark in the fashion world. An innovator and breaker of moulds, his shows caused a sensation for their avant-garde staging, which broke new ground. The shows at the Teatro Olimpia theatre in 1979 are particularly memorable, as well as his 'Made in Spain' show at the Las Ventas bullring, where the designer presented collections inspired by the rich colour and light of the Mediterranean.
