"Architect. In 1968 Fernando Garrido Rodríguez's project for the School of Arts and Crafts in Algeciras earned him the distinction of the National Architecture Award."

Fernando Garrido Rodríguez was born in Linares (Jaén) in 1930. He studied at the School of Architecture in Madrid, and graduated in 1960. A few years later, the Department of Fine Arts commissioned him to design one of his most important projects: the School of Arts and Crafts in Algeciras. He has worked for most of his professional career in Murcia. Highlights of his architectural production include several single-family homes in the La Florida district in Madrid, and in Palma de Mallorca and La Manga del Mar Menor (Murcia). He is a first-rate draughtsman, and his artistic skills have been featured in several exhibitions in art galleries.
