Fernando Martín de Argenta Pallarés was born in Madrid in 1945. He studied music at the Higher Music Conservatory in Madrid at the same time as studying for a degree in Law. Between 1960 and 1965, he was part of the rock group, Micky and the Tonys. In 1971, he started his career in the media. He has worked with Spanish National Radio since 1976, presenting classical music programmes, such as ‘Popular Classics’, which has been on air for over thirty years. One of his aims is to bring classical music to children, which he did with ‘El conciertazo’ for Spanish Television. He has received several awards for both programmes. He has been on the jury for the Príncipe de Asturias Arts Prize. He died in Madrid in 2013, at the age of 68.
