Enrique Urbizu was born in Bilbao, in 1962. He graduated in Information Sciences, specialising in Publicity, and he began his career in film by making short films with Super 8. He established the company Creativideo with fellow University students, and shot several advertisements. His first feature film, "Tu novia está loca", was released in 1988. His second film, "Todo por la pasta" (1991), was nominated for four Goya awards. After directing a few comedies, he made "Cachito" (1996), a film based on a novel by Arturo Pérez Reverte, and after that he wrote screenplays. In 2002 he returned to the director's chair with "Box 507", which earned him awards and good reviews. In 2011 he released the film "No Rest for the Wicked", which won six Goya awards.
