"Graphic designer. He is one of the major figures in graphic design in Spain."

Born in Barcelona in 1938, he studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. He created his first design studio in 1970. Among the works he considers key in his career are the design of the magazine “CAU” for the Association of Quantity Surveyors of Barcelona, the cover designs for the publisher Alfaguara and the logo for the Cervantes Institute. His well-known and iconic designs include book covers for Alfaguara, for Espasa-Calpe's Austral collection and for Grijalbo, which have made him the most notable figure in publishing design. He is a visiting professor at the Pompeu Fabra University and the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona. He is also author of major theoretical works related to graphic design.
