"Fashion designer. During his long career as a designer, he has consolidated his position as one of the most international of names in Spanish fashion."

He was born Elio Berenguer in Cordoba in 1929. At the age of 17 he moved to Madrid and began to work in the fashion world, where he was self-taught as a couturist. In 1960, at a time when his designs were beginning to win an important place for themselves in the world of high couture, he opened his own studio. His classical, stylised collections began to be known around the world. In 1969 he decided to combine haute couture with prêt-à-porter, whose designs were sold in Europe, Japan and Australia. He has dressed famous personalities such as Ava Gardner and Queen Sofia of Spain, and has been distinguished with major recognition and awards. He died in Madrid in 2019.
