Date of birth

"A composer who is difficult to categorise in a specific aesthetic or trend. His extensive and prolific career has been marked by numerous national and international prizes.

He was born in Madrid in 1962, and studied composition in the same city with Luis de Pablo and Francisco Guerrero. He moved with his family to New York in 1977, where he studied music. Since 1989, his work has featured in many international festivals and concerts. He has held scholarships at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and from the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. Marked by the artistic influence of Francisco Guerrero and with a cosmopolitan approach thanks to his years studying in New York, his creations are 'pure music' in the widest –and strictest– artistic sense. His works have received various awards since 1983.

Highlighted works

  • Metamorfosis (for sixteen accordions and string orchestra)
