Born in Seville in 1934 into an educated, prosperous and progressive family. She studied Fine Arts in Seville and Madrid. In 1954 she travelled to Paris where she discovered the works of Marc Chagall. Shortly thereafter she presented her first exhibitions in Madrid and Seville. Her works are evidence of the 'costumbrismo' style depicting contemporary customs and manners. Portraits, still life and landscapes are also other recurring themes. In 1992 the Reina Sofía Art Centre presented a comprehensive exhibition of her work. In 1998 she was named scholar at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. In 1997 she created the stage design for the opera 'The Barber of Seville' at the Maestranza Theatre in Seville. She died in Sanlucar de Barrameda in 2021.
