" A singer and composer of a very personal musical style. She is mainly known for revolutionising the "jota" music."

Carmen París was born in Tarragona in 1966. Her music is a mix of the "jota" (traditional music from the region of Aragon) and other rhythms such as flamenco, al-Andalus music, jazz and other contemporary sounds. Her work has internationalised the "jota".

She released her first album, "Pa' mi genio", in 2002. It was very successful and sold 40,000 copies. Her work is known for being a fusion of styles, and in her other albums she includes rhythms such as "habanera", "chotis", "ranchera", cha-cha-cha, Cuban music and jazz. After becoming internationally famous she worked with other international artists, such as the North American saxophonist George Garzone.
