Born in Alcaraz (Albacete) in 1509, he continued the art of Diego de Siloé in Andalusia. His first work dates to 1530 at the Monastery of Uclés (Cuenca). In 1536 he produced one of his most important works, the church of El Salvador in Úbeda, commissioned by Francisco de los Cobos.
