"Spanish and Mexican stage actress."

María Amparo Rivelles Ladrón de Guevara was born in Madrid in 1925. She came for a long line of actors and is the daughter of Rafael Rivelles and María Fernanda Ladrón de Guevara. She debuted in film in 1940 in María Juana. In 1957 she moved to Mexico and worked there for 25 years. In this way, she became a legend of Mexican cinema. She returned to Spain in the early 1980s and achieved great success with the television adaptation of Torrente Ballester’s The Joys and Shadows. Her work has been recognised at international events such as the Latin American Film Festival in Huelva (2004). She has worked on over thirty films and in many plays and television series throughout her career. She died in Madrid, in 2013.
