He was born in Madrid in 1951 and studied Hispanic Philology. After a short time as a scriptwriter and adapting novels, he entered for the Barco del Vapor Prize with his story ‘Las palabras mágicas’, winning second prize and launching a prolific career as a writer for children and teenagers. His books have been published in several European countries (France, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, etc.), America (Canada, USA, Mexico, etc.) and Asia (Korean, Lebanon and China). In 2009, he won the National Children’s and Teenage Literature Award for ‘Barro de Medellín’. His writings are rich and varied both in subject matter and types, and this has gained him innumerable prizes. He has also worked with the media.
