Illustration, Painting

Date of birth

" Painter, engraver and illustrator. He is considered to be one of the most accomplished and unique artists in Spain and internationally."

He was born in Madrid in 1936 and studies painting at the San Fernando Fine Arts School, engraving and lithography at the National School of Graphic Arts, and film set design at the National Cinema School. He started his career as an artist in the 1960s, when he initially saw himself as a ‘son of Pop Art’, but although this was a role he more or less chose for himself, he re-invented the style to his personal taste by adding the critical realism that features in his current work. His paintings have developed over time towards abstract Cubism. As well as painting, he has worked with the plastic arts – sculpture, collage, engraving and lithography.
