"Illustrator. He received the 2017 Spanish National Illustration Award for his extensive professional career as an illustrator and his influence on successive generations."

He studied Philosophy and Theology but moved to Madrid in 1958 to pursue a career in illustration. For 17 years he worked in the advertising world and has worked as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers including “El Jueves”, “Cambio 16”, “La Calle”, “El País” and “El Mundo”. He has illustrated a large number of books, the most notable ones being “Teoría de Madrid” with Francisco Umbral and “De Moscú a Nueva York” with Ignacio Carrión.
