Alberto Morais was born in Valladolid in 1976. He studied fine arts and film in Valencia. He moved to Madrid where he wrote and directed various short films. In 2007 he presented his first feature film, 'Un lugar en el cine', a documentary work featuring Víctor Erice and Theo Angelopoulos, with which he took part in the official section of various international festivals including Sao Paulo, Rotterdam, Viña del Mar and the Seminci in Valladolid. His second film, 'The Waves' (2011), looked at the unknown story of the concentration camps which existed in France before World War II, which won him three awards at the Moscow Film Festival.
