Alberto Iglesias Fernández-Berridi was born in San Sebastián in 1955, where he studied composition and counterpoint. He studied piano and composition in Paris. His career in films began with his brother, José Luis, and the director, Montxo Armendáriz. After creating the sound tracks for various feature films, he worked with Julio Médem and Pedro Almodóvar, with whom he won national and international awards. He has been nominated on various occasions for the Oscars in Hollywood in the category of Best Original Soundtrack (in 2005 for ‘The Constant Gardener’, by Fernando Meirelles; in 2007 for ‘The Kite Runner’ and in 2012 for ‘The Mole’). He has also composed various pieces for the National Dance Company.
