The General Archive of the Administration conserves the most recent historic memory of Spain.

Its collection contains documents generated by the official bodies of the central Government Administration, the Spanish Administration in North Africa and from political and administrative institutions in the period between 1939 and 1975, etc. It also has an important collection of photographs and maps. It is currently the repository for all the records of the activities of the different bodies in the general state Administration when they become 15 years old. Its collection provides a very valuable source of information on the recent history of subjects such as architecture, urban planning and public works.
